It was goddamn beautiful.

The core components of this design are a Raspberry Pi 4B, a 5V RGB LED strip, and a Retina iPad display with a HDMI bridge.

Unfortunately, all of these components are both extremely thirsty and extremely sensitive to sagging voltage. I ended up getting it going with 5v x 15A and 6v x 15A power supplies (see the dual power cables, also don't mix them up), which is completely ludicrous and probably more suitable for welding than powering consumer devices. This configuration is not workable, but it did let me provide enough of a proof of concept to do some testing.
